Hello again.
Its a rainy day in florence so we decided to scope out a cheap internet place (not so for phones).
The rest of rome was pretty cool. Once again the large monument let us down (Colliseum) but the other monuments nearyby (Roman forum and Palantine Hill) made up for the high cost. We saw more roman ruins and statues and historical stuff. While in the colliseum thought we learned that humans used to enjoy a whole lot of spilled blood.
We have been eating so well in Italy!!! It may be more expensive than greece but the food is so much more worth it. Dasha has been enjoying fresh pasta daily and we have yet to be dissapointed. Gnocchi, ravioli, tortelini, etc its all there and sooooo tasty. Gelatoes are also great we had an alcohol day where we had chocolate rum, whishky, and chamomile liquor gelato and we also had organic kiwi and apricot gelato.
Florence has been pretty cool to see, but very very hot! Today the rain is somewhat of a relief. We went to pisa for an evening and saw the tower and the duomo. Other than the museums we saw most of what florence has to offer. this morning we left for sienna (sidetrips only occur on eurail passes) but forgot our rainjackets so had a swift return. We did however find a 1 euro bottle of white wine which will ease our tired bodies from the rainy day. The ponte vecchio was nice but touristy, and the duomos here have this weird bathroom tile look to them (dasha described it the best). We have this cute room which dasha negotiated an awesome rate for. I think people underestimate her negotiation tactics and so she takes advantage of that.
Thanks mom and dad for the tips for como, it was optional but now its cut. Hope the weather in france gets better. We are almost done italy and so we will have to decide where to next. Dashas brother has given us some cool concerts and music fests that we might want to check out too!
Anyways time to find accomodation in cinque terre. See you soon!
